Matsuyama
From IkataWiki
Matsuyama(松山市|Matsuyama-shi) is the capitol city of Ehime Prefecture.
Matsuyama is the center of Ehime's government, economy, and culture. It is also home to Japan's oldest hot spring (温泉|onsen), Dōgo Onsen(道後温泉).
The major shopping district is the Ōkaidō(大街道) and Gintengai(銀天街) covered arcade that stretches from near the Prefectural Office(県庁 kenchō) to the Iyotetsu Matsuyama-shi train station (松山市駅 Matsuyama-shi eki).
Imported foods and other goods are sold in the basement of Takashimaya, below the Matsuyama-shi station.
Matsuyama is a transportation hub. JR trains run from the JR Matsuyama station (松山駅 Matsuyama-eki) (not to be confused with the Iyotetsu Matsuyama-shi station, commonly referred to as shieki) to Uwajima to the south, and Kagawa and Okayama (Honshū) to the east. Ferries run from the Matsuyama Tourist Port(松山観光港 Matsuyama kankō-kō) to destinations including Kure, Hiroshima, Beppu, and Kōbe. Ehime's only airport, Matsuyama Airport(松山空港 Matsuyama kūkō) (MYJ) is also located in Matsuyama.
