Certain service pins can be worn by everybody, whilst others are meant only to family members of people serving on the army. The primary navy assistance pin, the U.S. Flag Assistance Pin, is worn by family of service members according to a place of customary principles. The Service Lapel Button is for family members of those serving overseas. These pins are a mark of respect and pride with the American forces acting in home or abroad.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

1 Wear a U.S. Flag Support Pin on the left lapel of your suit, as it remains common practice to wear the pin nearby to the heart. A Assistance Lapel Button is worn in particular by family members to show that any relative yous serving with a current conflict. It must not be worn by anybody else. If some relative has died within that conflict, a gold star will appear on the pin instead regarding the traditional blue single. Some star is displayed on the button for each family member serving overseas. Lapel Pins.

2 Attach the U.S. Flag Support Pin to your tie or on your clothing above the remaining breast if you are not wearing some suit. In this case, it should be worn within the midst of a tie or on the upper-most, left breast of a shirt or blouse.

4 Dark-colored clothes accentuate the service pin. business suit lapel image by sparkia out of Fotolia.com

Accentuate the pin by wearing a plain, simple outfit. Assistance pins, no matter how colorful or decorated, are usually fairly small. For example, any Blue Star Pin contains the colors blue, bright and red, also must be worn on a plain dark-colored shirt to avoid clashing together with the pin's colors. Similarly, some black or dark-gray suit would suffice for the U.S. Flag Assistance Pin.
