You can replace the factory-installed AM/FM radio with one aftermarket stereo unit with features that dwarf those inside the original deck. Remove the factory stereo from the Jeep's stereo mounting dock and obtain the need adapters. Beginners can experience any new stereo unit installed from under 1-half hour.

1 Raise the Jeep's hood. Loosen the negative battery cable clamp's bolt with the wrench. Remove the cable from the battery terminal and set it apart. Move to the Jeep's interior.

2 Remove the six screws from the trim panel with the Phillips screwdriver. Pry the dash panel surrounding the stereo and climate vents from the dashboard with the trim panel removal instrument. Remove the panel and set it apart. Remove the screws holding the stock stereo into the automobile's stereo bracket and slide the unit from the dash. Remove the stereo wiring from the outlets on the back of the radio and unplug the antenna cable. Set the factory head unit aside.

3 Insert the installation sleeve to the dashboard stereo dock. Pull the stereo wiring and antenna cable through to the the front of the dash. Fold the metal tabs on the inside of the sleeve outward with the flat screwdriver.

5 Place the dashboard trim panel back to location on the dashboard. Screw on the six screws through the Phillips screwdriver to secure the panel to the dashboard. Return to the Jeep's battery.

6 Location the battery cable's clamp again onto the battery terminal. Tighten the wire's bolt in the wrench. Near the Jeep's hood.
