Washing a rug in hot, soapy water will destroy any fleas plus flea larvae living with the rug fibers. Rugs upon which pets spend time are especially susceptible to flea infestation. Repeating the washing of the rug will help control future flea populations. Always read the care label on your rug before washing it, to prevent injury to the substance.

Vacuum through beater brush Laundry detergent

1 Vacuum the rug with a vacuum cleaner that has a beater brush. Lower the vacuum as close to the rug as possible.

2 Place the rug in the clothes washer. Pour with one scoop of regular laundry detergent. Establish the washing machine to the hottest cycle available and operate the cycle. Rest the rug from flat to air dry. Achieve not machine waterless the rug if it has some rubber backing.

3 Repeat the washing from warm water once a week, or twice a week if your pet frequently sleeps on the rug.
