2009 Exchange Program Canceled
After the outbreak of H1N1 influenza in April 2009, the Ikata International Exchange Assocation followed the example of municipalities, organizations, and companies across Japan in putting its summer program on hold for the year. The delegation from Red Wing, in turn, displayed a keen understanding of the prevention-first atmosphere in Japan, and canceled their trip to Ikata as well.
The four student applicants from Ikata will be given the opportunity to participate in the 2010 Exchange Program if they so desire.
