Kirara-kan

Take a break from your drive on Melody Line

The Kirara-kan was built in April 1994 to serve as a hub for Ikata's tourist industry, offering local products for display and purchase, and providing fun activities and services.

On the first floor is the "Community Acquarium," where you can touch and feed fish; in the display corner is information about the local sake brewing industry, as well as Ikata's sister city. There is also a gift shop offering various local products.

The second floor features the "Ikata Renaissance," a display highlighting local history and culture, with examples of works made by local artists. The third floor has both Western and Japanese-style rest areas available free of charge. From the roof you can look out over the splendor of the and Uwa and Seto seas, and the beautiful Sadamisaki mountains.

Nearby is the Ikata Visitor's House, which together with the Kirara-kan form an official state-designated highway rest stop and Ikata's busiest tourist attraction.
