Another Successful Exchange Program, October Events

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

The town of Ikata has again successfully made it through another exchange between her sister city of Red Wing, Minnesota. A total of eight students from several Junior High Schools throughout the peninsula were sent along with two chaperons this year. Similarly, two chaperons and seven students from the town of Red Wing stayed in Ikata for roughly two weeks.

The entire event is documented on the town’s exchange-program-specific blog, The Flying Mikan. Please feel free to visit to get an idea of the kinds of events that children from two very different areas of the world get to participate in. Now in it’s 15th year, the Ikata/Red Wing exchange program is a testament to the positivity and personal growth that can blossom out of a sister city relationship.
